Gov. Jay Nixon vetoed legislation last week that would have allowed the Public Defender Commission to implement controls on its caseload. It's a move that pleased many prosecutors and judges, including some from Boone County.
That's because Boone County prosecutor Dan Knight and several local judges sent correspondence to Nixon urging him to veto Sen. Jack Goodman's legislation.
